ROTC  GMOAA proudly supports the Army JROTC program at the JL Mann High School, Greenville, SC.   

The mission of JROTC is to motivate young people to be better citizens. Students are the focus of Army JROTC's mission. In fact, they are the whole point of Army JROTC-it is devoted to their growth, both as a student and as a person. This program is a cooperative effort on the part of the Army and J.L. Mann Academey to give them an opportunity for total development and improve themself in many ways. JROTC teaches self -discipline, confidence, and pride in a job well done, and it offers them challenges and opportunities.

Each year GMOAA presents MOAA leadership certificates and medals to cadets.

The guidelines for the ROTC/JROTC recipients are defined by MOAA as follows:  must be in the next-to-last year of the ROTC or JROTC program; be in good academic standing; be of high moral character; demonstrate a high degree of loyalty to the unit, school, and country; and demonstrate exceptional potential for military leadership.   Candidates are selected by the Senior Science Instructors and awards are presented at combined ceremonies for the JROTC and singular awards ceremonies for the ROTC units.
